A promotional piece created using our new tag stringing machine.
Seidl’s Bindery is pleased to announce that we have recently added tag stringing to our host of finishing solutions. Our new tag stringing machine allows us to create a variety of value-added applications for stitched, glued, folded and other pieces.
The new machine, which features production speeds of up to 8,000/hour on select applications, allows for the efficient creation of tag stringed pieces. Our new tag stringing solution can be applied to products ranging in size from 1.5" x 2.5" to 8.5" x 14". Loop length options run the gamut from 1" all the way up to 6", and string material options include both yarn and elastic.
Our tag stringing applications can enhance a variety of different pieces, included folded, single sheet, pasted booklets and other formats. Common tag stringing applications include hangers or tags for bottlenecks, clothing and point-of-purchase packaging items.
Here are some tips to consider when planning your next tag stringing project.
Hole Placement
Most tag string applications involve a hole punched in a corner. Virtually every tag stringing project will be created with a hole 5/32” in diameter.
The most common mistake with tag stringing is printing text or images that extend into the hole location. The hole's bottom should be 9/32” into the sheet and 1/8” from each edge. These measurements may vary, so ask your bindery for layout help before going to print.
Design Options
Tag stringing can be combined with other binding techniques to create distinctive finished projects.
Folding - Deliver a lot of content in a small package by combining gate and accordion folding with tag stringing.
Stitching - Tag stringing your product to a stitched book will help it get noticed. Note: With tag-stringed stitched pieces, the stitch must be placed at least 3/4" from the top. A string tie hitting a punch will result in a costly delay.
